sit down & eat your dinner!

So there I sat last night eating enchiladas for dinner with my kids. When lil' J stands up and starts pointing and saying "do girls go pee by their bum, by their mustache on the bottom???" Now, I have never heard anyone use the word MUSTACHE to describe......well, you know. I simply muttered, trying not to laugh, "yeah, sort of. sit down & eat your dinner!"

memories of an old worn out rocker

Our old rocker finally breathed it's last breath! This past weekend the arm was totally falling off & it had grown oh so rickety! This chair was over 4 years old & well loved!! It was assembled and given by our most precious church family as a baby gift for J. I spent countless hours rocking my children for comfort, to sleep & for those sick all-nighters we all know & love. This chair was a part of our life.
It was a hard decision, but I finally decided it was time. There it sat in the garage to be given away. Today our bug man came over & saw this treasure of mine. I saw him contemplating how it could be fixed. We talked about it & before i knew it, our rocker of many memories was hauled up & driven away in his truck. I became super sad, like i welled up with tears, over a mere chair!! It was then i realized 2 things. 1. I'm totally a girl & 2. my period has to be coming!!

desert rat

Today is a sad day in the life of me. Since moving to AZ 3 1/2 years ago, i have kept & renewed my sacred CA drivers license. It was the last piece of home that i have clung to & proudly presented anytime using my cards as payment! However; i knew i could not continue my CA facade much longer....my license was going to EXPIRE! So this day will forever be known as the day i entered the Arizona DMV as a CA girl & left as an AZ desert Rat. :(

Think Twice

There is so much political buzz right now with the current presidential potentials. I'm not the smartest when it comes to politics and i am not going to preach about who you should vote for, but one thing i read about Sarah Palin brought back strong feelings about a sticky topic....

Pro-life & Pro-choice
I know she happens to be Pro-life and so am I, as unpopular as it may be. I can't believe how abortion has been made into a business. I watched a show about a former abortion clinic worker, who was like a salesman. She confessed there was a ton of $$ to be made & was so good at what she did, she was the deal closer! A couple thousand dollars for the abortion & it was success.

I went back to my HS days in government class when we as a class debated the issue. It was basically me against the class. I wrote this poem (below) back in my HS days & while it's not the best i always think if only a baby in the womb had a voice what would they say?? I have had 2 babies & am still amazed by how quickly they develop in the womb & how they are soooo alive!! I can not stay silent on this issue. No, i'm not into bomb threats or anything crazy, but i do have a voice....if there is anyone out there considering abortion I beg you to think twice!

Think Twice

I might be a doctor
or sail the open sea,
but i may not have that chance
if you don't hear my plea.
Please let me explain
I may not be much,
but I breath, move
and i can feel touch.
Why are you doing this?
You told them you won't.
I'm alive! I'm alive!
Mommy please don't!

take pictures...

I have been a part of a MOPS group for 3 years now. If you have never heard of it... it's moms, who have children birth-5 years, that get together, support each other & listen to speakers on mom related topics while thier kids are being babysat. Ahhh...my favorite part.

Anyow, this years theme is adventures in mothering. I can't help but always think about our trips to CA. They are long, the kids scream, fight, make messes of thier snacks, ask repeatedly if we're there yet & still we do it again & again. I love this particular picture because while i'm not the one holding j on the side of a hot desert road, with his shorts on my head & his undies in my pocket as he's pooping, i am reminded that kids are an adventure!! All i can say is don't forget to take pictures so you can all have a good laugh one day!!! :)

my husband has a mistress

So this is my husband's new love, no not the cartoon girl on TV, but the actual TV itself....
He has dreamed of this day when he could have her all to himself. Finally he was able to have her move in. So here she is....yes, she does not have legs and body parts that would compare to a real woman's, but she is beautiful & my husband does love her very much. So I will have to do things to fight for my man. May be one day she will get old and i will be special to him again. :)

moving to the mountains...

Thank God we were able to get away as a family to the AZ mountains. We were so refreshed and happy to be in cooler weather. As always nature brings me closer to God, not just in elevation, but in it's beauty and wonder! That weekend we decided that we are moving to the mountains! Of course reality sets in....there's no work up there & housing is expensive. Back to reality, back to the city we went. I guess if we really lived in the mountains we might take it for granted, so i guess it's bettter to go vacation there & dream of moving to the mountains!
